"Медный Всадник". An interactive CDRom version of the epic Pushkin poem. Level 4 (Post A-level):
Listen to a passage from the prologue ...
A unit for advanced Russian language study, using the original poem by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The poem is read by Igor Bunakov, and the recording was made at FM Division Studios in Moscow. You can listen to the poem in short sections, with left click for sound and right click for help with vocabulary. There are translations, interactive exercises to drill key vocabulary, exercises on a summary of the poem, and commentary in Russian by Lyudmila Pryadko and in English by Professor Robin Milner-Gulland. The main illustrations are by Alexander Benois, first published in "Мир Искусства" in 1904.
The CDRom is distributed in a DVD case with a 24 page booklet giving the full text of the poem and a translation by John Langran.
Alternatively, the same recording of the poem is also available as an audio CD.
